Back for More Wags and Smiles at the Capital Lakefair Parade!
Celebrating Shelter Pets at the Capital Lakefair Parade
On July 19, Friends of JAS proudly participated in the Capital Lakefair Parade for the second year in a row! Our float highlighted the wonderful variety of animals that Joint Animal Services helps find loving homes for.
Because of the warm summer weather, this year’s “animals” were of the stuffed variety, but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Parade-goers cheered, clapped, and called out to tell us about their own adopted pets from the shelter. It was heartwarming to see how many people in our community have opened their homes to animals from Joint Animal Services.
This year’s float signage proudly highlighted who we are and what we do. Friends of JAS exists to help Joint Animal Services as it cares for the pets and people of Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and unincorporated Thurston County.
Participating in Lakefair is always a joy — it’s a chance to spread awareness, share smiles, and celebrate the bond between pets and people. If you’d like to help with next year’s float or ride along with us, we’d love to have you! Just reach out through our Contact Us page.
